Monumen Husein Sastranegara
This monument was dedicated to Husein Sastranegara (1919-1946), one of Indonesia’s aviation heroes. He was once assigned as director of the now Husein Sastranegara International (HSI) Airport and military air force base, though only for a short period. He died during a test flight of the Cukiu airplane in Yogyakarta on September 26 1946, at the age of 27. This monument was made in 1945, located right at the entrance of HSI Airport, composed of a single statue of Husein Sastranegara in a relaxed standing pose.
Monumen ini dibuat oleh pemerintahan kota Bandung sebagai penghormatan kepada seorang pahlawan nasional bernama Husein Sastranegara yang telah berjuang mempertahankan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia dari revolusi penjajahan Jepang, Belanda bersama dengan sekutunya. Monumen ini dibuat pada tanggal 17 Agustus 1952, dan terletak di Jln. Pajajaran Desa/Kelurahan Husein Sastranegara Kecamatan Cicendo Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat – Indonesia.
