Monumen Purwa Aswa

Purwa Aswa Purba Monument stood in front of the old entrance gate of Bandung Train Station. This locomotive sculpture took the model of the TC.10.08 train series, produced by German train manufacturer, Hartmann. The ‘T’ means tramlok (non-standardized measuring device) and the ‘C’ means that the steering wheel’s diameter is 600 mm. Managing Director of PT KAI (Indonesian Railways Company), Anwar Suprijadi, officiated the monument on September 28, 1992. Similar public art sculpture to this one also display a life scale model of a vintage steam train stood in front of the PT KAI main office building. It is publicly known as Patung Kereta Api.

Patung yang disebut Purwa Aswa Purba berada di Jalan Stasiun Selatan, depan pintu lama Stasiun Bandung. Lokomotif itu berwarna hitam variasi merah, putih dan kuning. Patung lokomotif ini bernomor seri TC.10.08. yang memiliki makna, yaitu T berarti tramlok (alat ukur yang tidak standar) dan C berarti roda kemudi berdiameter 600 mm, dibuat oleh pabrik Hartmann asal Jerman dan diresmikan oleh Direktur Umum Perumka (PT KAI) Bapak Anwar Suprijadi pada 28 September 1992. Patung publik serupa berdiri di depan kantor pusat PT KAI yang dikenal dengan nama sederhana Patung Kereta Api.
