Monumen Sister City Forth Worth

On April 2, 1990, Mayor Ateng Wahyudi and the Mayor of Fort Worth, Bob Bolen, signed a Sister City agreement. The agreement was a suggestion from the Minister of Research and Technology at that time, BJ. Habibie. Habibie, who was the President Director of IPTN (Nusantara Aircraft Industry) at that time thought that a collaboration with the BELL Helicopter Factory in Fort Worth City would open new opportunities. This collaboration is the first Sister City collaboration between Indonesia and the United States. The cooperation between the two cities covers the fields of economy, education, training, arts, youth exchanges, and socio-culture. The monument is located at the intersection of Wastukencana and Purnawarman Street.

The monument has 3 legs that support a three-sided pyramid. On 3 sides of the pyramid are the emblem of Bandung City and City of Fort Worth. Also written on the sides are the text “KOTA SAHABAT”, “SISTER CITIES”, and “BANDUNG-FORT WORTH”.
