Patung Dr. Saiful Anwar

Statue of Dr. Saiful Anwar is an icon of the Malang City Hospital which is located at Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto Number 2. The statue sits on a 2.5 meter tall pedestal that was covered with white marble and a bust on it. The marble pedestal with a rectangular base featuring a hospital plaque and logo on the front, both connected with a gold overdraft that also divides the pedestal vertically. The circular overdraft was placed on top of the pedestal framing the gold-colored hospital logo. Similar overdraft was also found on the back of the pedestal. The size of Dr. Saiful Anwar’s bust statue was 60 x 40 x 30 cm, made of cement and finished with gold paint. The figure of Dr. Saiful Anwar himself was shown wearing a coat complete with a tie and glasses without lenses. The depiction of hair was neatly combed, forming the shape of the head.

This hospital has existed before Indonesia’s independence and was previously named Celaket Hospital. It was once used as a military hospital by the KNIL and was taken over by the Japanese until 1947. Now it functions as a General Hospital. Celaket Hospital was inaugurated as Dr. Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital by the Governor of East Java on 12 November 1979, and later became an A-level hospital in April 2007.

Patung Dr. Saiful Anwar merupakan ikon dari RSUD kota Malang yang berada di Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto Nomor 2. Patung ini berdiri di atas pedestal berbahan semen yang dilapisi marmer setinggi 2,5 meter, patung dada Dr. Saiful Anwar sendiri berukuran 60 x 40 x 30 cm berbahan semen yang dicat emas.

Rumah sakit ini telah ada sebelum Indonesia merdeka dan sebelumnya bernama Rumah Sakit Celaket. Pernah digunakan sebagai RS militer oleh KNIL dan sempat diambil alih oleh Jepang hingga tahun 1947, kini ia beralih fungsi menjadi Rumah Sakit Umum. Rumah Sakit Celaket diresmikan sebagai Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. Saiful Anwar oleh Gubernur Jawa Timur pada 12 November 1979 dan menjadi RS tingkat A pada April 2007.

Pedestal patung berlapis marmer memiliki landasan berbentuk segi empat dan menampilkan plakat dan logo rumah sakit di bagian depan, sebuah cerukan warna emas membagi pedestal secara vertikal. Cerukan berbentuk lingkaran terdapat di bagian atas pedestal membingkai logo rumah sakit yang juga berwarna emas, pembagian yang sama juga terdapat pada bagian belakang pedestal. Sosok dr. Saiful Anwar sendiri ditampilkan mengenakan jas lengkap dengan dasi dan kacamata tanpa lensa. Penggambaran rambut tampak disisir rapi membentuk bentuk kepala
