Patung Kuda Tentara
This is an equestrian statue of General Sudirman, located at the Bandung Army Headquarters. The statue has been standing since 1991 and was made by the sculptor Amrizal Salayan. General Sudirman was the leader of the guerrilla forces during the war for independence (1945-1949).
General Sudirman is riding a horse with all four legs not raised at all. This is one of the several equestrian statue poses, symbolizing that the hero died not because of war, but could have died because of illness, age, or other causes. This statue stands in front of the Bandung Army Headquarters complex and the Bandung Staff and Command School on Jalan Gatot Subroto. The material of the statue is bronze with a height of about 5m from ground to top, about 6m long and 2m wide.
