Patung Tentara UPI

This statue is a memorial for soldiers of the North Bandung battalion who died in the 1945 period. It is located in front of gate number 2 of the Indonesian Education University (UPI) on Setiabudi Street. The statue is estimated to have been made in 2015 at the same time as the construction of the Education Museum at the Indonesian Education University.

The main body of this statue is a figure of a soldier made of bronze and then a list of names of fallen fighters (with their positions and units) as its base. The names were engraved on an iron plate in black ink. Not only the names of soldiers, but it also bears the name of the civilians who died during the fight for independence. The front and back of the base is left empty. The base material itself is a stone and cement structure. The soldier figure in this statue poses as if he is about to run with his arms holding a weapon.
