Patung Toga

This sculpture stands on Tamansari Street. Its main material is iron and it was placed atop a pedestal made of cement. The main body of the sculpture, which takes the shape of a Toga and an open book below it, has lights installed with them so that at night the sculpture can be seen and adorn the night landscape of the city. The sculpture is painted black. Judging from the shape of the sculpture and where it is placed, that is in the vicinity of Bandung’s area that houses numerous of universities / colleges such as Unisba, ITB, Unpad and several other private universities, this sculpture seems to aim to become a mark of one of the major educational areas of Bandung City.


Patung ini terletak di Jalan Tamansari. Ia terbuat dari material besi dan diletak di atas sebuah pedestal berbahan semen. Pada bagian utama patung, yang mengambil bentuk dari sebuah Toga, dan pada bentuk sebuah buku yang terbuka di bawahnya dipasangi lampu agar pada malam hari patung tetap dapat menghias ruang terbuka kota. Selain material utama besi, sentuhan akhir untuk patung ini adalah cat berwarna hitam. Melihat bentuk patung dan penempatannya, yaitu di sekitar wilayah dengan jumlah universitas/perguruan tinggi yang banyak seperti Unisba, ITB, Unpad dan beberapa universitas swasta lainnya, maka patung ini dapat dinilai bertujuan untuk memberi penanda salah satu wilayah pendidikan besar Kota Bandung.
