Tulisan .bdg
This sculpture was built as a marking of Bandung City’s border area. The letters ‘.bdg’ (read: dot b-d-g) on the monument is a form of Bandung citizens’ dream to have a level I domain similar to that of New York City (.nyc) in the United States. Similar sculptures with slightly different presentations can be found in many corners of the city of Bandung. This project was initiated by Mayor Ridwan Kamil in 2017. The condition of the monument now looks unkempt with traces of vandalism on the “g” part of the monument.
The text .bdg is colored light blue. Each .bdg letter stands individually, supported by a white pillar. Beneath the text of .bdg is a white board that says “Welcome to the City” in Bahasa Indonesia, the board colored green and yellow while the text in white. The color on the monument refers to the colors contained in Bandung City’s emblem.
Tulisan .bdg diwarnai biru muda.
